What you can try is *removing* gstreamer-vaapi if it's installed,
various users had problems with it.

If that doesn't help, unfortunately all you can do is waiting for the
new (QtWebEngine) backend, as that'll do video rendering differently.

In the meantime, you could add a keybinding to use mpv to play videos:
